The craftsmanshipThe Art Glass DifferenceWhy hand-cast art glass beats molded glass & resin, the many shapes our artisans create, and how to spot the real thing. β–¦ Material comparison ✦ One craft, many shapes πŸ” Spot genuine glass Open
01 Β· Material Comparison

Hand-cast art glass vs. molded glass vs. resin

Three materials look similar in a thumbnail β€” but live very differently on your wall. Here's how our hand-cast art glass compares.

Our Hand-Cast Art Glass Molded / Pressed Glass Resin / Acrylic Imitation
How it's made Hand-cast & shaped by artisans, one piece at a time Machine-pressed in a fixed mold, mass-produced Liquid resin poured into a mold, mass-produced
Texture & pattern Unique crackle texture β€” no two tubes alike Identical, repeating pattern on every unit Flat, "printed-on" look; texture feels superficial
Light quality Deep, layered glow; light refracts through real glass Even but flat; little depth or movement Dull, slightly cloudy; can look plasticky when lit
Feel & weight Substantial, cool, solid in the hand Solid but uniform Noticeably light, warm, hollow-feeling
Color over time Color is in the glass β€” won't fade or yellow Stable color Can yellow or cloud with heat & UV over time
Heat tolerance High β€” glass handles bulb heat well High Lower β€” can warp or discolor near heat
Character A one-of-a-kind work of glass art A functional, uniform fixture A budget look-alike

The takeaway: hand-cast art glass costs more to make, but it's the only one that gives you genuine depth of light, individual character, and lasting color β€” the qualities that make a fixture feel like art rather than hardware.

02 Β· Forms & Shapes

One craft, many shapes

Every piece begins the same way β€” molten glass, hand-cast and shaped by our artisans. From that single craft comes a whole family of forms, each catching and releasing light in its own way.

How to spot genuine art glass

Online photos can make resin and glass look alike. Here's how to tell the difference once it's in your home β€” every point below describes our fixtures.

1
Pick it up

Real glass is cool and substantial. Resin feels warm, light, and hollow. Our tubes have real weight β€” many customers say the heavy box was their first clue it's genuine.

2
Look at the texture

Hand-cast crackle texture has true depth you can feel with a fingertip. Resin texture looks like it's printed on a flat surface.

3
Turn on the light

Glass refracts light into a layered, moving glow. Resin tends to look flat, dull, or slightly cloudy when lit.

4
Compare two pieces

No two hand-cast tubes are exactly identical. If every piece looks machine-perfect and matched, it's molded β€” not artisan glass.

Our promise: every fixture is genuine hand-cast art glass. Slight variation between pieces isn't a flaw β€” it's proof it was made by hand.

Not a pattern printed on the glass. Ridges standing proud of it.

The Rosamund Fluted Glass Cascade Chandelier layers [] panels of textured glass in descending tiers, each panel overlapping the one below the way scales overlap β€” and each one carrying a set of concentric arcs raised in relief across its face. Those arcs are the whole piece. They are not printed or etched; they are ridges standing proud of the glass, formed while it was still soft, with a fine granular texture between them that catches light like frosted sugar. So a single panel is never one flat surface β€” it is a dozen small curved edges, each one taking light at a slightly different angle.

Unlit, the same arcs do something different: they catch daylight along every ridge and the fixture reads as a piece of carved ice rather than a light waiting for dark. This tiered glass chandelier suits a dining table, a two-storey entry, or a stairwell where it will be seen from more than one floor.

  • 1
Arcs Raised in the GlassNot printed, not etched β€” ridges formed while the glass was still soft, so they stand proud of the surface. A single panel is never one flat face; it is a dozen small curved edges, each taking light at its own angle.
  • 2
Ridge After Ridge, No Bulb in SightLight is broken by one raised arc after another before it ever leaves the fixture. That is why it glows evenly from every angle below, with no visible source and no hard shadow anywhere.
  • 3
Panels That Overlap Like ScalesEach tier sits over the one beneath rather than beside it, so the arcs of one panel run across the arcs of the next. That overlap is what gives the cascade its depth β€” and why it reads differently from underneath than from across a room.
  • 4
Textured Glass's Frosted GlowWarm light through granular white glass reads clear rather than yellow, so the fixture brightens a room without recolouring it. Unlit, the same texture catches daylight along every ridge and holds its own by day.

Dimensions & Placement

βˆ… 31.5β€³ Γ— H 25.2β€³ βˆ… 80 Γ— H 64 cm Β· tiered cascade Β· chain suspension, adjustable
  • Over a Round Dining TableBest above a round table 42–47β€³ (107–119 cm) across β€” roughly two thirds to three quarters of the table width. Hang the lowest panel 30–36β€³ (75–90 cm) above the tabletop.
  • Entry Hall & StairwellAt H 25.2β€³ this has real depth, so it wants ceilings of 10 ft (3 m) or more β€” and it is at its best in a stairwell or two-storey entry where the tiers are seen from more than one level. Keep 7 ft (2.1 m) of floor clearance in any walkway.
  • Living Room & BedroomSized for rooms of roughly 14 Γ— 17 ft (4.3 Γ— 5.2 m) β€” add your room's length and width in feet and read the sum as inches. Centre it over the seating area rather than the middle of the room.
  • Where It Must Not GoAn indoor, dry-location fixture. Not for a bathroom, above a bath or shower, in a laundry, or on a covered porch or balcony β€” those need a damp- or wet-rated fixture.
Hanging Height Tip

A simple guide: allow about 2.5–3β€³ of drop for every foot of ceiling height. Remember this fixture is 25.2β€³ deep on its own before the chain is added, so measure from the ceiling to the bottom of the lowest panel rather than to the frame. In a standard 9 ft room that leaves very little chain β€” below 10 ft ceilings, check the numbers before ordering.

Over a dining table you can hang it lower β€” 30–36β€³ above the tabletop β€” because nobody walks beneath it. The chain shortens on site by removing links, and we can supply extra length for a stairwell if you tell us your ceiling height when you order.

What Makes It Special

01

Run a Finger Across It

The arcs are not a pattern on the glass β€” they are ridges standing out from it, formed while the glass was still soft enough to take them. Between the ridges the surface is finely granular, closer to frosted sugar than to smooth frosting, so it catches light rather than simply passing it. Because the texture is in the material rather than applied to it, there is nothing to scratch off and nothing to wear away.

02

Diffusion by Surface, Not by Coating

Most fixtures hide their bulbs behind a sprayed frosted layer. This one does it with shape. Light meets one raised arc, then another, then the granular field between them, then the panel overlapping below β€” broken four or five times before it reaches the room. That is why there is no visible source from any angle underneath, no hotspot, and no hard-edged shadow on a table. A coating can be scratched off; a ridge cannot.

03

Seen From Below, and From Beside

Because the panels overlap rather than sit side by side, the arcs of one run across the arcs of the next β€” and which arcs cross which depends entirely on where you are standing. From directly underneath it reads as concentric rings falling away from you. From across a room it reads as a cascade of scales. It is the same fixture doing two things, which is why it holds up in a stairwell where people see it from two floors at once.

The Design

Hidden by Shape, Not by Coating

A sprayed finish can be scratched off. A ridge cannot.

Every chandelier with lamps inside it has the same problem to solve: how to stop you seeing them. The usual answer is a coating β€” smooth glass, made cheaply and quickly, with a frosted layer sprayed on afterwards to blur what is behind it. It works. It also wears, scratches at the edges where hands touch it, and looks flat in daylight because there is nothing there but a film.

This piece solves the same problem with shape. Every panel carries a set of concentric arcs raised in relief, formed while the glass was still soft enough to take them, with a fine granular field filling the space between. So a single panel is never one surface β€” it is a dozen small curved edges, each catching light at its own angle.

Then the panels are layered so they overlap rather than sit side by side, scale over scale. Light leaving a lamp meets one raised arc, then another, then the granular field, then the panel hanging below β€” broken four or five times before it ever reaches the room. Which is why there is no bulb visible from any angle underneath, no hotspot, and no hard-edged shadow on a table.

The difference shows most in daylight, when nothing is switched on at all. A sprayed panel goes dull and grey; there is no depth in a film. Here the ridges keep working β€” catching whatever light the room has and holding it along every curve, so the fixture reads as carved ice rather than as something waiting for dark.

Texture is slower to make than a coating, and it cannot be added later. It has to be there while the glass is still soft, or it is not there at all.

Dinner With No Glare

Broken four or five times on its way out, the light lands soft on a table. Nobody across from you is squinting past a bright spot, and nothing casts a hard edge onto a plate.

Eleven in the Morning

Switched off, in flat daylight, the ridges still catch what light the room has. Most fixtures are furniture until dark. This one is not.

Seen From Two Floors

From below it reads as rings falling away from you; from the landing above, as a cascade of scales. Most chandeliers have one good angle. A stairwell asks for two.

A coating hides the bulb. A ridge does it, and gives you something to look at.

Questions, Answered

Before You Order

Everything you might want to know about the glass, the depth, and getting it on your ceiling.

01Are the arcs printed on, or part of the glass?

Part of it. They are ridges standing proud of the surface, formed while the glass was still soft enough to take them β€” not printed, not etched, not sprayed. Between the ridges the surface is finely granular, closer to frosted sugar than to smooth frosting.

You can tell by touch: run a finger across a panel and you feel every arc. A printed pattern is flat under a fingertip, and a sprayed frosting is uniformly smooth. It also shows in daylight β€” a coating goes dull and grey with the light off, while ridges keep catching whatever light the room has.

02Will I see the bulbs?
No, from any normal angle underneath. Light leaving a lamp meets one raised arc, then another, then the granular field between them, then the panel overlapping below β€” broken four or five times before it reaches the room. That is diffusion done by shape rather than by a frosted coating, and it is why there is no visible source, no hotspot and no hard-edged shadow on a table.
03Will it fit my ceiling height?

Check this before anything else. The fixture is 25.2 in (64 cm) deep on its own, before the chain is added β€” so measure from your ceiling down to where the lowest panel would sit, not to the frame.

It wants ceilings of 10 ft (3 m) or more. In a standard 9 ft room there is very little chain left once the fixture itself is accounted for. Over a dining table you can go lower, since nobody walks beneath it β€” but in a walkway you need 7 ft (2.1 m) of floor clearance under the lowest panel. If you are between sizes on height, tell us your ceiling and we will do the arithmetic with you.

04What size room does it suit?
At βˆ… 31.5 in (80 cm) it suits a round table of 42–47 in β€” take about two thirds to three quarters of the table width. In an open room, add the room's length and width in feet and read the total as inches, which puts it in a room of roughly 14 Γ— 17 ft. It is at its best in a stairwell or two-storey entry, where the tiers are seen from more than one level.
05What bulbs does it take?
9 Γ— E12 or E14 bulbs, LED or Edison style, not included. That is the small candelabra screw base β€” E12 in North America, E14 in Europe and the UK, and the two are close enough in size that packaging often lists both. Use a warm white around 2700K: cooler light flattens the ridges and makes the glass read grey rather than clear.
06Can it be dimmed?
Yes, if the bulbs are dimmable. Fit dimmable bulbs on a dimmer switch and the whole fixture dims together; ordinary bulbs will not. Use dimmable bulbs throughout rather than a mix, and check the total wattage against what your dimmer is rated for before you install.
07Will mine look exactly like the photographs?
Very close, but not identical. Because the texture is worked into each panel by hand, the depth of the ridges and the density of the granular surface vary slightly from panel to panel. Silhouette, size, tier count and finish stay consistent; individual panels do not. From across a room the cascade reads as one form; stand underneath and every panel is its own.
08Is it difficult to install?

It is a hardwired ceiling fixture and we recommend a licensed electrician. The frame and chain go up first, then the panels are hung tier by tier β€” that part takes patience rather than skill, and two people make it far easier: one supporting, one hanging. Work from the top tier down and switch off at the breaker first.

On weight: a full cascade of solid glass panels is heavier than it looks. Confirm your junction box is rated for it and properly supported before you order β€” a standard box holds far less than most people assume.

09Will the glass arrive safely?
Every panel is individually wrapped and foam-seated inside a reinforced box, with the frame and hardware packed separately from the glass. If something arrives damaged, send photographs within 24 hours of delivery and the affected part is replaced. Because each panel hangs on its own, a single damaged panel never means returning the whole chandelier.
10How do I clean it?
A soft dry cloth for dust, barely damp for marks, wiping along the arcs rather than across them so the cloth does not catch. Work from the top tier down, so dust falls away from what you have already cleaned. Avoid scouring pads and ammonia sprays β€” the granular surface holds residue. Switch off and let the bulbs cool completely first. Once or twice a year is plenty.

Still have a question? Our team is happy to help before you order.

The Colour Collection

For Rooms That Chose a Colour

Lighting comes in clear, amber, smoke and white β€” that is very nearly the whole catalogue, everywhere. These three are what happens when a room is allowed to decide something instead.

Chartreuse

Linden Chartreuse Glass Tube Chandelier

Fifty textured tubes in four tiers, in the one colour the lighting trade leaves out. Unlit it reads as deep apple-olive; switched on the green swings toward gold and the whole thing goes luminous rather than dark.

Choose this if you want the boldest of the three β€” and a hall, stairwell or study where you look at the light rather than sit under it. View Product

Amethyst

Isadora Cascading Amethyst Glass Chandelier

Falling glass in a soft violet β€” the colour that reads as jewellery rather than as decoration. Warmer and more forgiving than the chartreuse, and the one of the three that sits most easily beside brass and warm wood.

Choose this if you want colour with some restraint β€” a dining room or a bedroom, where violet flatters rather than announces. View Product

Blue

Blue Glass Bubble Globe Tiered Chandelier

Tiered globes with bubbles suspended inside the glass β€” so the colour has depth in it rather than sitting flat. The coolest of the three, and the one that suits a pale, modern room best.

Choose this if your room runs cool β€” white walls, pale stone, grey linen β€” where amber would fight and blue simply belongs. View Product

A word about colour, honestly. Tinted glass is not neutral light β€” it warms or cools a room, and it changes how things beneath it look. That is the point of it, but it means placement matters more than with clear glass. Tell us the room and what is in it, and we will say which colour suits it β€” including when the answer is that clear or amber would serve you better. Email support@korewolamp.com.

THE ART OF GLASSMAKING

Born from Generations of Craft

Our artisans follow traditional Italian glassmaking techniques, entirely by hand transforming molten glassβ€”heated to over 1,400Β°Cβ€”into shimmering works of art.
01

Premium Raw Materials

Only the finest silica and mineral oxides are selected, for extraordinary clarity and rich, saturated color.
02

Hand-Forming & Shaping

Skilled artisans shape each piece by hand; color is fused within the glass itself, so no two are ever identical.
03

Annealing & Inspection

Each piece is slowly cooled in annealing ovens, then individually inspected to guarantee lasting quality.
MATERIAL COMPARISON

Hand-Cast Art Glass vs. Molded Glass vs. Resin

Three materials look similar in a thumbnail β€” but live very differently on your wall.
